The Digital Transition
Are you ready for the digital transition? DISH Network can help.
In 2009, television technology changed forever. Federal law required that analog television broadcasts cease by February 17, 2009. This meant analog antennas - "rabbit ears" - would no longer be able to pick up local TV channels. Instead, a variety of digital transmission methods would be used to push out television programming.
We happen to think DISH Network is the best of these methods, but hey, we might be a little biased. After all, while cable keeps trying to squeeze more digital signals into their tiny tubes - resulting in blocky, pixellated pictures - DISH Network keeps launching more satellites, giving us more and more bandwidth to send the highest-quality digital pictures to our customers. Find out more about the great channels you can get, with a lower price and better picture quality than cable.
Don't need more than just the two or three channels you were getting over-the-air? We can help there, too. DISH Network offered two digital converter boxes. Plug in a digital antenna, and the DTVPal will convert the digital signal into analog for your current TV. The TR-50 provides the same features, but adds outputs for your HDTV and a DVR to pause, rewind, and record all the action.
