Suggestions for improving The Biggest Loser

Sure, NBC’s inspirational weight loss/fat-people-torture porn show The Biggest Loser doesn’t need any ratings help. It regularly squashes the ratings competition in its time slot. But it never hurts for ageing shows to shake things up a bit. We’ve got some suggestions.

  • Better challenges. The contestants are often tempted with mounds of cupcakes and junk food. We say take it a step further: Make them do laps in a pool filled with pudding. And if they get injured? Ice packs made of Haagen-Dazs.
  • Better prizes. Every twenty pounds lost can be redeemed for a chance to punch Jillian Michaels in the face.
  • All keeling over and crying, all the time. This is what we tune in for, right? So make it an exercise routine. Ten reps of falling down sobbing falling by ten reps of a transcendent second wind backed by inspirational music. Repeat until it’s time for Parenthood.
  • Crossover. From now on, the Biggest Loser champ gets to eat the Bachelor.

The Biggest Loser Season 11 airs on NBC at 8/7 Central.
