The ins and outs of Time Warner cable TV
With miles and miles of coaxial cable run around the world, cable TV has one of the largest infrastructures of any entertainment device. Time Warner is one of these cable TV providers and use this method of deployment. Cable TV companies use the coaxial cable that is running to your home to send data signals which can currently make up the TV and internet signals. Bundles are a great advantage of cable TV companies (and more recently, satellite TV), offering savings when you order more than one service including TV, phone and internet. Unfortunately, if you don't have the coaxial cable attached to your house, you may not be able to get cable TV. This situation is seen much more often in very rural areas. Under most circumstances, you will be able to get cable and, if you can’t, perhaps you can petition for the nearby cable TV company to run coax to your area. Satellite (Dish) Televison
Satellite TV Technology is a little bit different. It works by sending a wireless signal to your house. 'Cutting the cord' so to speak essentially untethers you from the coaxial cable laid by cable TV service providers. Your house will have a satellite dish on it that receives the proper signals from the orbiting satellites. Similar to a cable TV decoder, your receiver is able to decode the signal from the satellite and provide you with your TV entertainment. What this means for you is that you can get great TV programming almost anywhere in the US without having to worry about the inconsistencies of cable TV. Satellite could be a great option for many people who, say, live in rural areas that the cable companies have not ventured to yet.
Streaming Television
Probably the future of television, IPTV (internet protocol television) is a haven of on-demand programming. Both Hulu and Netflix offer great priced packages that include days, no, years of streaming entertainment. Streaming TV is such an incredible way of catching up on shows or movies. Having that freedom of access is a great achievement in the world of entertainment. Here's the problem: Very few people broadcast new programming via the internet and streaming TV. Conventional TV still holds the cake when it comes to newly released material and, thus, is a reason why many people decide to remain with cable TV or satellite TV providers rather than switching completely to streaming TV.
